Typically these visits will occur 1 day and 14 days after the installation. If a GFCI protected electrical outlet/box is not within approximately 30 feet of the docking station, a licensed electrician will need to install an outlet (which is not included in our installation fee). *Fee varies depending on the size of the yard and additional factors. We will quote the install fee for your property, as part of our consultation process.

How do I maintain my robotic lawn mower?

Maintenance is minimal. We recommend that you remove any grass that builds up under the carriage at least a few times per month (more if it is used when it's raining). The system will notify you when the blade needs to be changed (after 200 mowing hours). The blade is very easy to change and we will show you how to do this when we install your unit. Additionally, we can provide monthly maintenance of your unit, for a fee, if you'd like.

What happens if the robotic lawn mower hits an obstacle, or someone lifts the unit?

If the mower encounters an obstacle, it will safely reverse and change direction. Designed for safety, the mowers we sell automatically shut down if flipped or lifted.

What happens when the robotic lawn mower's battery is low?

When the battery is low or mowing is complete, the unit will automatically return to the base station to charge up and get ready for the next mowing cycle.

Can the Stihl iMOW operate on steep hills?

Absolutely, depending on the mower model, it can handle between 22 and 24 degree slopes with ease!

Can I pick the time of day my unit mows?

Yes, the unit allows you to fully customize the days/times and duration of mowing cycles. You can even control if you want your mower to operate when it rains.

Additionally, if you purchase one of our robotic mowers that has LTE technology, you will be able to make adjustments on the fly, via the app (compatible with Apple and Android devices).

Can the Stihl iMOW operate in rain?

Yes, the mower works well in the rain. The reason being, is that the mower only cuts small portions of grass at a time, it does not easily get clogged up like a typical mower when used in the rain.

Will the robotic lawn mower mow the edges of my lawn?

You can set the mower to mow the perimeter of your lawn once or several times per week. For areas that the boundary wire is set back from the edge of the lawn, there will be a few inches that will still require edging for those areas. During the installation process we will work to minimize those areas as much as possible. Trust us though, not having to mow your lawn will be a huge time savings, even if you have to edge ocassionally.

How often does the robotic lawn mower's blade need to be replaced?

The blade will need to be replaced every 200 mowing hours. The unit will inform you when it is time to replace the blade. The blade is very easy to replace and we'll show you how to do this when we set up and install your mower.

Do I need to store my iMOW indoors during the winter?
